Veterinarians

  • Debra Freidus , DVM



  • Priscilla L. Kerbin-Price , DVM


    Priscilla received a B.A. from Wellesley College in 1968 and graduated from New York State Veterinary College at Cornell University in 1972.  She practiced in Westbury, N.Y. (1972-1974), Lansdowne, P.A. (1974-1975), Guelph, Ontario, Canada (1975-1977), and Southbury, C.T. (1977-78).  Since June 1979 she has been a co-owner of the Watertown Animal Hospital.  Priscilla's main focus in the practice is surgery, her outside interests include riding, gardening, reading and crafts. She volunteers as a gardener at the Glebe House in Woodbury, Steve and Priscilla reside in Woodbury with their cats and dogs. Their son and daughter are now grown living in D.C. and Boston areas respectively.
  • Steven M. Price , DVM


    Steve graduated with distinction from New York State Veterinary College at Cornell University in 1971.  He practiced from 1971 to 1974 in Wantagh, L.I., N.Y.  Steve completed a one year rotating small animal internship at the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School in 1975.  He spent the next two years completing aninternship and residency in clinical pathology at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.  Steve joined a private practice in Southbury, C.T. in 1978, and then operated an emergency clinic in Flushing, Queens, N.Y.  In June 1979, Steve and his wife, Priscilla, purchased the Watertown Animal Hospital where he has since practiced.  Steve has served on the Rabies Committee for the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association since 1991, and has been the committee chairman since 1994.  He served as Secretary of the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Society for 8 years.  In addition, Steve is currently serving as the President/ Secretary for the Litchfield County Veterinary Medical Association.  He is interested in sports and music.
  • Marybeth Spiotti , DVM


    Dr. Spiotti grew up in Oakville, Connecticut. In fact, it was at Watertown Animal Hospital that she first acquired experience working in the veterinary medicine  profession, beginning at the tender age of 15! Dr.'s Kerbin and Price served as two of her most valued mentors throughout high school and college.

    Dr. Spiotti graduated with honors from Holy Cross High School in Waterbury, CT. She then attended Michigan State University where she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Comparative Physiology.

    She continued her education at the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her degree of Doctor o Veterinary Medicine, graduating with high honors.

    Upon graduation, Dr. Spiotii was awarded the American Animal Hospital Association Senior Student Award for Clinical Proficiency in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery. She is also a member of the Society of Phi Zeta Veterinary, The Honor Society of Veterinary Medicine.

    Dr. Spiotti is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Feline Practitioners, and the Association of Shelter Veterinarians. She currently serves as a Board Member of the Torrington area Health District.  
Staff

  • Cathy Atwood


    Cathy joined the staff of Watertown Animal Hospital in 1998. She began as a part time hospital assistant and quickly became an important part of our front office staff.  She is our "go to person" for all questions regarding customer service!! Cathy is married and lives in Thomaston with her husband, Jeffrey, two step children and two grandchildren. She also shares her home with 5 dogs and 5 cats.  She enjoys walking with her dogs, doing puzzles and crafts and watching movies.
  • Julie Biron


    Julie has been a Veterinary Assistant since 1987 and has been with the Watertown Animal Hospital since 2006. She graduated from The University of Connecticut in 1991 with a BS in Animal Science and Natural Resources. In 2008 she was certified through Equissage NY/NE as an Equine Massage Therapist. Julie currently lives in Bethlehem with her husband Dan and their three children, Erin, Noah and Jonah. She also shares her house with two cats, Elvis and Gracie and two dogs Ziggy and Maya.


  • Jill Guluzy


    Jill has been a valuable part of Watertown Animal Hospital since 1989! She was our full time receptionist until starting her family 2001. She is currently a part time employee and expanded her skills to Veterinary Assistant. She also works with Animals for Life answering phones. Jill lives in Beacon Falls with her husband, Joe and their three children, Jennifer, Joseph and Jeffrey. She also shares her home with 1 dog, Baron, and 2 cats, Felix and Daisy and 2 guinea pigs. She enjoys reading when not spending a good deal of her time running after her children.

  • Robin Hayes


    Robin has been a part of our team since 2009. She brings 14 years of bookkeeping/ accounting experience and office management from the construction/electrical field. Robin currently resides in Bethlehem with her husband Bill and 2 dogs Mason and Blu. She enjoys musical theatre, being a talented singer (played Sandy in the musical “Grease” and Maria in “The Westside Story”).  She also enjoys scrap booking, tennis and spending time with her family.
  • Jennifer MacAulay


    Jennifer has been a part of our team since 1992. Her duties include assisting in surgery, laboratory procedures, radiography and reception.  Congrats!! to Jen, she recently completed the Fundamentals of Small Animal Anesthesia. She currently lives in Torrington with her husband, Peter and daughter, Brynn. She also shares her home with 2 dogs, Chimay and Peanut Butter, 4 cats, a guinea pig, and various fish! Jennifer also enjoys sewing/crafts, cooking/baking, home brewing, music, The D., art and reading.
  • Vikki Magaraci


    Vikki has worked at the Watertown Animal Hospital since its opening day in June 1979!  She has worked in the veterinary field for over 37 years, has been a certified veterinary technician for the past 25 years and is a veterinary dental technician. She is also currently working part time as an emergency technician at a nearby Emergency Hospital.  She has special interest and training in veterinary dentistry and animal behavior.  Vikki enjoys showing her Irish Water Spaniels in both breed (3 Champions!) and obedience competition (2 Titles!).  She also enjoys walking with her dogs, reading, gardening and traveling to dog shows and going to visit her friends in Alaska.  Vikki shares her home with many non-human companions including dogs, cats, parrots, a tortoise and usually some "foster" animals.
  • Natasha Root


    Natasha has been working in the veterinary field since 2005. She has an A.S. in Veterinary Technology from NCCC and became a certified veterinary technician in 2010. Although she is the newest member of Watertown Animal Hospital she has many yearsof animal care experience. She owns multiple species of animals including reptiles, cats and dogs, especially  Aedon, her schipperke. Her hobbies include hiking with her husband Brian and her dogs, and reading.
  • Leslie Way


    Leslie brings 14 years of Customer Service/Front Office experience to Watertown Animal Hospital and has been with us since 2008. She is also currently working part-time as a receptionist at a Veterinary Emergency Hospital and has been there for 6 years. Leslie lives in Waterbury with her fiancé, John and shares her home with 2 dogs, Thor and Brandy and the newest addition, Spooky the cat. She enjoys crocheting, watching movies and spending time with her family.
